Jakub Kloc-Konkołowicz is an adjunct professor at the Department of Social Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw. Born 1975, he holds a PhD from the University of Warsaw that focused on the primacy of practical reason in the philosophy of Kant and Fichte. Jakub was a visiting scholar at the University of Tübingen (as a DAAD-scholarship holder) in 2000 and a visiting researcher at the University of Frankfurt in 2006-08 and 2015-16. Jakub was awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel research grant by the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung in 2014. In 2016 he made his habilitation based on the book on the concept of recognition as an obligation. Since 2016 he is the director of the Institute of Philosophy in Warsaw. His research areas are: social philosophy, classical and contemporary German philosophy.
